In Memoriam: Jonathan Winters

I hate writing these.   Another of my heroes has fallen.  Jonathan Winters who is probably best known for his standup comedy and his integral role as the son of Mork in Mork and Mindy was one of those comedians who was brilliantly funny with his voices and his facial expressions.  His full-length feature film debut was one of my favorite movies of all time, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World."  In it he plays a delivery truck driver who gets wrapped up in the crazy chase for $250k buried under a giant "W."  Winter's stand up routines involved a variety of voices and characters including the irrepressible Ma Frickett.  He was a major influence in the world of comedy up to and including such luminaries like Robin Williams, George Carlin, Frank Caliendo, Bill Cosby, Lewis Black, Patton Oswalt, and Conan O'Brien.  His loss to the world of comedy will be felt by his friends and fans, of whom I am proud to say that I will always be one.  Here are a few videos of Mr. Winters in some of his most iconic stuff and also his recollections on some of his contributions to showbusiness.

 Farewell Mr. Winters.
 Rest In Peace
