Convention Awareness Project - Texas (CAP) Presents: An October Two-Fer!

The Convention Awareness Project is proud to announce two big events in two parts of Texas on the same day!

While not actually a convention, the first event is one that warrants more than just a passing mention, the Women of Wonder Day event at Heroes and Fantasies in San Antonio, Texas!  This event celebrates women in comics and benefits Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc.  What makes this one day event so unique is that Heroes and Fantasies is one of only two comic shops in the nation hosting a Women of Wonder (W.O.W.) Day!

This event, as part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, has been produced in Portland, OR since 2006 and in San Antonio since 2011.  This is a great chance to be a part of the second year that Heroes and Fantasies has been involved with this cause.  And to bid on some incredible original art and autographs that have been donated by such celebrities as Linda (Wonder Woman) Carter and artists like George Perez and Rob Liefield!  See the official W.O.W. website and scroll down to see the actual art being auctioned on Sunday at Heroes and Fantasies.

Just one of the pieces of original art on auction.

There will be a super-hero trivia game show (produced by yours truly, though I will be unable to attend) at 2:30 PM and a costume contest at 4:15 PM.  Live auctions will close throughout the day so be sure to bid on everything and check back periodically to see if you might have won.  And be sure and shop this incredible comic shop that has a massive selection of comics, toys, statues, and other collectibles.  They are doing a wonderful job supporting a great cause and deserve a little support themselves!
