31 Days of Horror Day 29: "Death is not the end."

Title of Movie: Final Destination

Actors: Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Kerr Smith, Kristen Cloke, Seann William Scott, Chad Donella, Amanda Detmer, Roger Guenveur Smith, Daniel Roebuck, Tony Todd

Quotable Line: none come to mind

Director: James Wong

Released: 2000

The Skinny: Alex, a teen has a premonition that a flight he's on headed to France will crash. He convinces his friends not to board the flight and the plane does crash. Soon after though, the teens are stalked and killed by Death who is intent on collecting the souls of those who cheated it.

The Good: Final Destination is a slow build to each accident that systematically kills off the characters throughout the movie. The kills are inventive and very done. The movie doesn't skimp on the blood but at the same time, it takes its time to get to the kills. This is a very well done series that does not disappoint as far as the kills.

The Bad: While yes, it does not disappoint with the kills the series ended for me with part 2 as it gives closure to the last survivor of the plane crash and the events of the first one. This first one in particular I have some minor issues with the fact that every one of the survivors are just conveniently close to each other when another one gets offed. had it been me, I'd be getting the hell away from everyone else so that I can just avoid getting killed by association.

The Ugly: Shard of metal to the head after a train runs over the shard sending it flying through the air.

My final verdict: 4 plane baggage claim tags out of 5.
