USG Housekeeping for August 2011!

Hey everybody Rick here with the housekeeping for August 2011.  I do believe I skipped a housekeeping segment or two.  I could be wrong but hey, who's counting? Ready to go? Awesome.

Prize Winners
So about a month ago, our very own Jedi Master Excalibur started a contest for this gorgeous Icingdeath Dragon statue and there were not one, but THREE winners of the dragon.  Here are the winners.

Lee Cocheneur
Roy Buckingham
Kelly Cross

Congrats you guys!  You can expect your dragons to be personally delivered by us of the USG soon.  How soon?  As soon as we get them!

CARS Challenge Continues!

Okay, We are getting plenty of feedback on the Facebook page but simply NOT enough on the site.  We are at 80 bits of feedback.  We only need 20 more before Cole has begrudgingly agreed to sit down and watch Cars.  Post on the site, send an e-mail to, post show feedback on iTunes, tweet about us, get that feedback in because Cole must see this movie!  More importantly, we like to hear from you guys!

Upcoming Stuff...
Okay, here are some really neat events coming up this month!

August 6, 2011
S.T.R.I.P: The Dallas Web Comics Expo
We will be there!  I do believe I will be hanging out at a table there, passing out flyers, and raffle tickets.  For what? A raffle of course!  We will also be there selling the dinos from the Ray Project that made their debut at All-Con this year!  Cole, in typical Jedi Cole fashion will be wearing himself thin and out by moderating as many panels as he possibly can.  Please, come and see us! A fun time to be had!  Visit the site here for more information!
August 5, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27

Evil Dead the Musical
This one we WILL be at!  This show is running for a good portion of August!  Definitely worth your time to see this because it is incredibly funny and a wonderful homage to the brilliant scary comedy mix that the films provided!

Five college students spend the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the

woods, accidentally unleashing an evil terror. In this comedic take on the
80s horror franchise, characters and demons sing and dance to songs
written specifically for the musical. And, as in the films, Ash is there to dish
out his various one liners and fight the never ending demons. The musical
takes creative liberty with the plot line of the movies, mixing together the
characters and concepts of all three, as well as changing sequences for
the sake of the stage and comedic intent. This show is intended for mature
audiences and contains adult language and situations.

Here is more information on the play!

August 19th, 2011
Fantasia at the Hollywood Bowl Performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic

We will NOT be there, mostly because we are based out of Fort Worth.  However, please do go check out what will be a truly unique way of seeing this movie.  Here is some more information...

Nearly 75 years ago, Walt Disney used the skill of his world-class animators to visualize the world of classical music. The result: Walt Disney’s Fantasia. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of our very own Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, John Mauceri returns to recreate this magic – an evening of selections from the classic film with clips on the Bowl’s big screen. You’ll see your favorites, plus a glimpse into the brilliant artwork and unfinished segments of this Disney masterpiece. The evening ends with fireworks that complement the spectacular beauty of this cinematic triumph.

You can find more information on the event and also purchase tickets here.

August 27, 2011
Zombiepalooza!  A really fun event where you can dress up as a zombie and compete for some really awesome prizes, listen to some awesome local bands, and also come and see us there because the USG has a booth there! This is put up by our friends at Zombie Manor and X5 Entertainment!  Here is the site link for more info!

I do believe that is all I have at the moment.  Thanks for reading!
