All-Con Countdown - Nineteen Days!

Part 12: Own a Little Piece of All-Con

It’s back! All-Con will once again have an Art Show and Auction this year. After a brief absence the showcase of some incredible works of art will be open to attendees with the art on display available for bidding at a live auction on Saturday night.

I have been to a variety of conventions over the years and have always found the Art Shows that many feature to be a great aspect of the convention experience. Be sure to visit the Willow Room to explore the great works of art on display. You might find something irresistible that will look even better in your home than it does at All-Con!

Friday, March 18 - 2 PM - 8 PM
Saturday, March 19 - 11 AM - 6 PM
Art Auction 9 PM - 10 PM in the Chinaberry Room
Sunday, March 20 - 11 AM - 4 PM

Just one of the many "Rays" to be shown.
But wait! There’s more! Don’t forget to check out The Ray Project, the USG’s own art feature based on our mascot Ray the Traveling Dinosaur! The various interpretations of Ray by the USG staff, some of our friends, and a number of local artists will be on display over the course of the weekend and available to purchase in a silent auction running all weekend long. Winners will be notified on Sunday afternoon and can collect their purchases at All-Con or have them shipped (for a nominal fee) to their home.

The Ray Project Auction will offical end at 12 PM on Sunday with winning bidders being notified by signage in the Art Show Room and via phone or text of their winning bids.  All proceeds from the Ray Project go to the USG’s Equipment Fund to help enhance our ability to keep bringing you a great podcast.

*Note: Artwork shown above is file art image of a finished work from Finish It! Finish It! at All-Con 2010, inks by Michael Champion.  This particular artwork will not be available at the art show but is included here simply as an illustration.  The Ray shown above (Ever Lovin' Blue-Eyed Ray by Cole Houston) will be on display at the Art Show and available for purchase in the Ray Project Auction.
